There are many wonderful books available- some listed on our site in another place, but my favorite, most used educational resource now is 'Simple Stategies That Work' - our school district has bought probably 10 of them for use by anyone working w/ kids on the spectrum. The beauty of this book is that it is less than 40 pages, filled with very practical strategies. There are charts and tables, it is an easy read that is concise. It is the kind of book a regular ed teacher, who is already overworked, can get through quickly- and it would benefit the whole class as well as the student w/ special needs. I have two copies and can't keep ahold of them! It is available from www.asperger.net.

My favorite book that I have read in a long time is "10 things every child with Autism wishes you knew".  This book is fantastic!  Ellen Notbohm is the mother of an Autistic young man, and she has a wonderful perspective on his disability.  She started this book off by writing an article for Autism Asperger Digest, so everyone can look on that site for the top 10.  I recommend everyone read this book.
