Hi

I live in the UK and stumbled across your website whilst doing my routine research into autism and therapies on the net. I have to say it has got a real warm feelfactor! Smiley

Me and my wife are currently doing the Son-rise home program with our son (6) who was diagnosed as ASD with severe communicative and possible learning dificulties at about 2-1/2 to 3 years old. He has progressed very well with language, eye contact, interaction and toileting.  We really got a lot from the book "What You Can Do Right Now to Help Your Child with Autism" by Jonathan Levy,  it is written in simple easy to follow terms. I just thought I would pass this on as it might help other autistic families.

I found the write up on a book site and thought it might explain better than me!

“All children with autism have ways of dropping into their own world, leaving us behind for a minute, an hour, a day.”

This is the essence of autism: A disorder that is, at its heart, about interaction. Many of the symptoms associated with autism come from either a lack of paying attention to other people or a lack of interest in joining in with the rest of the world.

Because this is the case, it is important that when you work with your child, you are addressing the core issue of autism: Your child, for one reason or another, is not spending enough time in our interactive world.

provides you with things you can do - right now – to work with your child and draw him or her back into our interactive world. The ten techniques outlined in this book are not just explained in detail, they are also illustrated by true stories of Jonathan's work with children with autism (and their parents).

This book will make a difference in your child's life and your own.
