I've had my children diagnosed and had evaluations done under a variety of situations and circumstances. But I could never have believed the difference in the level of understanding of AS, ability to pinpoint needs, in providing detailed short and long term goals for my children that we found with the Ziggurat Group. If I had it to do over again and could have had them work with my children sooner, I would not hesitated so long. It's well worth the trip to Texas for anyone to have their children diagnosed or receive evaluations with the ZM Group.
I have three children with Asperger Syndrome, who have significant challenges. Although I'm a pretty on the ball parent (so I hear) and ASD has become my field so I put many good resources to use with our kids, they have continued to struggle--particularly in school. The Ziggurat Group, Drs Aspy and Grossman, have given us a tremendous amount of incredibly useful information about our children and a multitude of ideas to work with them at school. But they aren't only knowledgeable, but also caring toward individuals on the spectrum. Our middle child who does not easily build relationships with people, instantly bonded with Dr. Barry Grossman upon meeting him. It almost made me cry! All of our children were surprisingly relaxed around Dr. Aspy and Dr. Grossman. "Relaxed" is not a term that I usually apply to my children, but it's as though they could instantly sense that they were understood, that no one was judging them, and that their needs would be taken into consideration and met. They were just so amazing with my kids, I can't say enough about it. But above all, we found the interactions and results of the evals they did for our children incredibly useful. I'm really excited about the new supports that we are creating based on the information we received from the Ziggurat Group.
So, if anyone is looking for diagnostics or evaluations, try The Ziggurat Group. Their webstie is:
