Hi, I am new to this sight and computer in general so I hope I am entering this right. I have a 6 year old son with high functioning autism. We live in Southern Indiana across the river from Louisville, Ky. My son is starting his second round of listening therapy. Unfortunately, it makes him very emotional and he tantrums. I keep asking myself if it is worth the stress on every one and is it needed in the long run. He did have some improvement after the first 5 months. My son has auditory sensitivity which is what we are hoping to decrease. Would the sensitivity decrease as he ages or would he learn to deal with it on his own without intervention?

Hey!
We are in jeffersonville so we must be neighbors. Our oldest did SAMONAS therapeutic listening- what are you using? He had some struggles with it, but it was usually that the music needed to be adjusted. It did incredible things for him.   Feel free to email me offlist if you want to chat more privately.
