on Autism Spectrum Disorders!
The Indiana Resource Center for Autism staff will conduct a 5 day Summer Institute on Educating and Supporting Individuals Across the Autism Spectrum. The summer institute will be conducted at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community in Bloomington, Indiana. Dates are June 16-June 20, 2008 beginning at 8:30 each day and ending at 3:30. Topics covered include: introduction to autism spectrum disorders, the role of movement disorders, person centered planning, functional behavioral assessments, communication programming, visual supports, social skills assessment and programming, instructional strategies, and structured teaching. The cost of the workshop is $350. That includes morning pastries and coffee, instructional materials, parking permits, and snacks. The workshop will also be offered for 3 hours of Indiana University graduate credit. Graduate course enrollment will happen the first day of the course on-site.
